Harry Mount’s book, “Brexit: How it Split the Country – and the Tory Party” explains how Britain made its momentous decision to leave the EU. As a journalist who was close to the action as it happened, and knows many of the protagonists, he witnessed first-hand the mutual loathing between the different Brexit factions, and how they still managed to win. He saw, too, the development of Project Fear – the negative campaign developed by the Remain camp – which ended up in abject failure. And then he was on the scene when the Conservatives imploded, as Michael Gove knifed Boris Johnson, leaving an open path for Theresa May to No. 10.

Harry Mount has published eight books, including “Latein lieben lernen!“ (Heine, 2007), an international best-seller, selling over 120.000 copies in Germany, Britain and America. He has written, too, about the history of British architecture, the British landscape and his time as a libel lawyer. His last book was “Odyssey – Ancient Greece in the Footsteps of Odysseus” (Bloomsbury, 2015). He is also the editor of “The Wit and Wisdom of Boris Johnson” (Bloomsbury, 2016). He writes regularly for the Spectator, the Times Literary Supplement, the Literary Review, Country Life, the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail.

After studying at Oxford and the Courtauld Institute, Harry Mount was a leader-writer and New York correspondent for the Daily Telegraph.
