From our invitation:
"300 years ago, on May 7, 1711, the philosopher David Hume was born. On the occasion of his birthday, the Bonn Group for Eighteenth-Century Studies (BGECS) presents a colloquium which is dedicated to his historical anthropology, the literary communication of his (hi)storytelling as well as Hume’s philosophical stance towards religion. This “Happy Birthday Song” is meant to introduce Hume-novices to the philosopher’s encompassing oeuvre and to – hopefully – bring ‘his’ century close to them."
Following the lectures people had the opportunity to meet the members of BGECS and learn more about their work.
