DESCRIPTION:Our students live in a world marked by upheaval\, whether due 
 to the global climate crisis or a shift to the political right. Democratic
  values and global cooperation are being challenged around the world. Engl
 ish language education can address these issues by creating a forum for di
 scourse about global challenges and social goals. This term’s Current Is
 sues Lecture Series is dedicated to the exploration of language education
 ’s social aims\, which include\, among other things\, teaching and learn
 ing for human rights and children’s rights\, fostering critical media li
 teracy\, and ecopedagogies. We are delighted to offer five fantastic works
