Dr. Hanna Teichler is a postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of English, American and Celtic Studies (04/2026-01/2027). Hanna holds a PhD from the department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures, Goethe University Frankfurt, and a M.A. degree in English, French and Portuguese philology. She specializes in Anglophone literatures, memory studies, environmental humanities and postcolonial studies. Her first monograph Carnivalizing Reconciliation (2021, Berghahn) was shortlisted for the First Book Award of the Memory Studies Association in 2023. Hanna has submitted her Habilitation Transoceanic Memory in March 2026. 

Hanna is the co-editor of the book series Mobilizing Memories and the Handbook Series in Memory Studies (Johanna Vollmeyer, both DeGruyterBrill). She co-directs the Frankfurt Memory Studies Platform with Astrid Erll. In 2023, Hanna co-founded the Memory Studies Review (DeGruyterBrill, with Justyna Tabaszewska, Erol Gülüm, and Paul Leworthy).
