Dr. Ghattas Eid has been selected as IAAK's nominee for the Lehrpreis der Universität Bonn — the university's annual award recognizing outstanding achievement in teaching.
The prize goes beyond rewarding good classroom performance. It also honours contributions to curriculum development, program organization, and the introduction of innovative teaching formats. Nominations are based on student evaluations or put forward by committees with significant student involvement. The rector's office makes the final decision.
Depending on faculty size, one to four lecturers across the university receive the award each year. Prize money ranges from €2,000 to €4,000 per recipient, with the ceremony held once annually.
Evaluation criteria include clarity of content delivery, course structure, student engagement, supervision of theses, and overall teaching quality as assessed by students.
