Bethany Stoddard and Lisa-Christine Altendorf present new findings on L2 writing at CASLL 2026
Bethany Stoddard M.A. and Lisa-Christine Altendorf M.A. travelled to Valencia to present at the first International Conference on Corpus-based Approaches to School Learner Language. Their talk examined how cohesion and syntactic complexity jointly shape coherence in argumentative writing by German secondary school learners of English — drawing on the Young German Learner English (YGLE) corpus.
BAEL at IAAK Research Day
The IAAK Research Day, held on May 6 in Bonn, brought together the BAEL team, researchers, and staff for an engaging afternoon of presentations. Topics included AI in teaching, English learners, and global English varieties. The event also fostered connection and exchange within the IAAK community in a welcoming atmosphere.
