Fouzia Jamal Goreja is currently a third-year PhD student at the Air University, Islamabad, Pakistan and working as Assistant Professor (English Department) at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad.
As her research interests being corpus-based analysis, genre analysis and pedagogical research, Fouzia’s dissertation project focuses on compiling a corpus of doctoral reports for analysing the assessment discourse of examiners at the doctoral level. She wanted to explore the discursive practices of PhD examiners who legitimize the research work of candidates and provide recommendations for improvement in their projects. Fouzia Goreja previously earned her MA degree in English Literature from University of the Punjab, Lahore, as well as a MS degree in Applied Linguistics from the International Islamic University Islamabad.
As a guest researcher at the department, Fouzia aims to use the extensive resources of the University of Bonn for improving research skills and research methodology. Furthermore, she hopes to utilize her stay abroad to get an opportunity to work with international researchers and to gain experience in international publications.
