PhD Student

I am a PhD candidate and research assistant (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) at BAEL, working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fuchs. Research-wise, I am drawn to sociolinguistics as well as theoretical questions in syntax and grammar. Specifically, I am interested in how socio-demographic differences inform our cognition and how the latter affects our linguistic choices—especially on a structural level. I work mostly within the framework of World Englishes/postcolonial Englishes, where these patterns are particularly visible.
