The English Course Companion (EnC²): An Integrated, LLM-Supported Platform for English Language Practice
2025 - 2027, funded by the Strategiefonds Studium und Lehre (Programmlinie: Zukunftsorientierte Lehre, vielfältig.nachhaltig.digital 2025–2028) at the University of Bonn
EnC² is a digital learning and feedback platform developed for the Language Practice modules at the IAAK. The project combines interactive exercises with AI-supported feedback generation to support the development of academic English skills in Language Skills I, Language Skills II, and Writing Skills I courses. Initially, the platform will be used internally by instructors to evaluate and refine AI-generated feedback workflows before expanding to broader classroom integration. The project explores how large language models can support pedagogically meaningful feedback on grammar, style, summaries, and argumentation while remaining aligned with course objectives and institutional AI strategies.
