While the topic of female figures in Celtic literatures never ceases to attract the attention of scholars, the female scholars themselves often remain understudied figures in the history of our field, although much has been done on some of them recently. A focus on modern women in our field was made recently in the podcast by Katherine Forsyth and Geraldine Parsons on Women in Celtic Studies, organized by the Association of Celtic Students – this was one of our sources for inspiration in planning our seminar.
Explore this series of the seven insightful tributes to seven formidable scholars, namely Angharad Llwyd, Ella Carmichael, Ekaterina Balobanova, Eleanor Knott, Maartje Draak, Rachel Bromwich, and Hildegard Tristram. While we’re not experts in video production and a few of the videos may not start perfectly smoothly, we hope you’ll enjoy them and spread the word.
