 The IAAK Research Day, held on May 6 in Bonn, brought together the BAEL team, researchers, and staff for an engaging afternoon of presentations. Topics included AI in teaching, English learners, and global English varieties. The event also fostered connection and exchange within the IAAK community in a welcoming atmosphere.

IAAK Research Day

On Wednesday, May 6, the IAAK Research Day brought together researchers, and staff from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the IMPULSE – House for Intellectual Innovation and Creativity in Bonn.

Members of the BAEL team, including Prof. Dr. Robert Fuchs and several PhD researchers, shared insights into their current projects, creating an engaging and stimulating atmosphere for discussion and exchange.

Among the presentations, Beth Stoddard, M.A., explored the role of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Linguistic Research, while Lisa-Christine Altendorf, M.A., offered perspectives on Exploring Learners of English. Tjorven Halves, M.A., and Mariam Gagua, M.A. presented on Varieties of English around the World, highlighting the richness and diversity of global English.

Beyond the presentations, the event also provided a valuable opportunity for the IAAK community to come together, connect, and exchange ideas in an informal and welcoming setting.
